Portraits and Self-Portraits Intro
One tip, when taking portraits and self portraits is to play with the settings. If you do this, you may be surprised on the quality of pictures you get. Change the settings when you can, because you want to create diverse pictures. Another tip is to get closer when the picture isn't good enough. Try different angles, not just one angle, because that is just boring. If you try different angles you will most likely get better pictures. The last tip is to get your subject out of their comfort zone. If you do this, they will get more comfortable and be unique with their poses. I think that if you do these 3 tips, you photos will be great.
I really liked the background and the angle the photographer took the picture in. I chose this picture, because I think that the environment the man is in gives the viewer background information on what he does.
I really liked this picture, because I like how the photgrapher captured the man's face and made it look like the basket is wrapped around his face. I chose this picture because the angle the photographer took this picture in is very cool.
I really like the expression of her face and how the camera captures her as a silly person. I chose this picture, because I really like how she closed her eyes and how simple the picture really is.
I really like how the photographer captured her emotion, since her mascara is running you can see she has been crying. I chose this picture, because in my opinion it tells a story and it shows deep feelings coming from the subject.
I really like how the background is blurred out, because it is obvious that she is the subject of the photo. I chose this picture, because there is a rule of photography: Rule of Thirds.
I really like how you can se the sunlight rays in the background. I chose this picture, because of the quality of the picture and how the lighting is really nice.
For my portrait assignment, I want to shoot either my little brother or one of my friends. I think the place I would want to shoot would be in my backyard, because it would be nice for environmental, since some days there are beautiful sunsets. To make the shot successful, I will make sure I add some rules of photography and make sure the lighting and the camera functions are properly set.
