Turning Torso, Sweden 1. The architect of this building is Santiago Calatrava 2. Construction started in February 14th, 2001 and it opened in August 27th, 2005. 3. It is located in Malmo, Sweden 4. This is a landmark anyone can visit 5. It took 1600 million dollars to build it 6. It resembles a human twisting spine. Santiago wanted to add a new piece/ monument where people could visit. 7. I chose this building, because when I read the title, at first, I was curios on what it could be because it said turning torso. When I searched it up, I was intrigued that the building was actually twisted. I got interested in how a building that is twisted could actually stand for itself. |
Cubic Houses, Netherlands 1. The architect of this building is Piet Blom 2. This building was built in the 1970's 3. It is located in Rotterdam, Netherlands 4. This is a place that you can visit 5. No 6. This landmark is based on the concept 7. I chose this building, first of all, because of the name. When I saw that it said cubic houses, I immediately searched it up, because I was curious to see if they were actually houses in shapes of cubes. Another reason I decided to do this building, because I was interested to read more about how in the world this was possible to do and how it was physically done. |
Habitat 67 Canada 1. The architect of this building is Moshe Safdie 2. This building was built in 1967 3. It is located in Quebec, Montreal 4. This is a place you can visit 5. No 6. This was designed for Moshes architecture and urbanism program 7. I chose this building, because of how it is built and the design. This is not an ordinary building, because it is in a very unique shape, which is another reason why I chose to do this. The last reason I chose to do this building is because I wanted to know a little more about the structure. |
