Huntington Story
On Wednesday night Janice Jones, a 53 year old woman who lives in Barstow, California was accidentally shot by a gun that she owns. Jones lives in a motor home, which at the time of the accident was parked on Beach Boulevard. She was eating pork chops, when her dog knocked it down and the weapon discharged as soon as it hit the floor. The bullet when right past Jones right leg and through the side of the vehicle.
Jones was taken to the Huntington Beach Hospital by an ambulance. Later, she was moved to Irvine Medical Center.

¨It could've been worse,"Jones said. ¨The bullet hit two inches apart from the gas tank,¨ she said.
Jones´ dog is a Pomeranian named Tombo. According to Janet Ngo, one of the animal control officer, the dog seemed to be malnourished and had fresh cigarette burns on his forehead.
¨It could have done with a little less abuse and a few more of those pork chops,¨ Ngo said.
In the end, the officers cited Jones for expired plates. The district attorneys office was debating whether or not to charge her in relation to the accident, since she did not have a permit for the gun.
